More About the Author

Self-proclaimed late bloomer Elizabeth “Liz” Moore Kraus, writing as e.c. kraus, got a delightfully late start, heading to college at forty-two and emerging six years later with an M.A. in English Literature, proof that great stories do not rush their beginnings. She went on to spend over two decades teaching at Ventura College.

Eventually, she traded lesson plans for plotlines to pursue her dream of writing. Her debut YA novel, Maverick: a boy, his crew, and a dog, reflects her mission to create engaging stories that inspire lifelong readers. Filled with heart, humor, and hope, the book is inspired by sully, her beloved golden, proudly the silliest of all dogs, who proved daily that loyalty, mischief, and love make the very best stories. e.c. kraus continues her joyful writing journey, with a series based on characters from Maverick on the horizon.

While Maverick is her debut YA novel, it is not her first book. She is also the author of the memoir 3 Sisters 3 Weeks 3 Countries (Still Talking), a collection of humorous, heartwarming stories about sisterhood and travel.
